What if my splint doesn’t fit?
All regular splints may be exchanged free of charge if they are in “like new” condition. We encourage patients to try out splints to make sure they fit properly. The silver from which the splints are manufactured is malleable and the angle between the rings may be manually changed to adjust the fit of the splint. These changes are expected and will not prevent the splints from being exchanged free of charge. Never use tools when adjusting the splints as tools will scratch the splints. Splints with heavy scratches or tool marks may not be exchanged. Special order splints may not be exchanged free of charge; therapists should contact us by phone with questions. Return instructions are supplied with all orders. See How do I return a splint for more information.

Adjustments

MAKING THE SPLINT FIT

LARGER

The splint size can be increased by about a size by decreasing the angle between the rings. Place the splint on a flat surface and using even pressure, bend rings closer together. Make small adjustments and check the fit between each adjustment.

Squeezing the rings together loosens the fit of the splint. This adjustment can allow a finger to reach a neutral position if the splint is holding the finger in slightly bent position.

MAKING THE SPLINT FIT

SMALLER

The splint size can be decreased by about a size by increasing the angle between the rings. Place the splint on a flat surface and using even pressure, bend rings further apart. Make small adjustments and check the fit between each adjustment.

Spreading the rings apart tightens the fit of the splint. This adjustment can hold a finger in a slightly bent position and may help avoid locking or clicking in the joint.

ADJUSTING THE

PVX

MCP & STABLE THUMB SPLINTS
Without tools, bend the PVX closer or farther from palm to provide support under joint and block collapsing. PVX may need to be twisted for more even pressure. If PVX cannot be adjusted by the therapist, return to SilverRing™ Splint to assist with adjustments.

The Spoon PVX gives more directional support and the U PVX avoids that direct pressure.

ADJUSTING THE

BRACELET

MCP & STABLE THUMB SPLINTS
Use a twisty tie or string to temporarily adjust bracelet. After trialing length, a local jeweler can also adjust bracelet which does NOT void warranty. Links cannot be added back after adjustment. Bracelet can also be permanently adjusted at no cost by SilverRing™ Splint.

Bracelet can be worn in multiple ways and should be trialed before final adjustment. If patient wishes to crisscross bracelet a longer length can be requested at no cost
