Flexion
SIRIS™ Boutonniere Splint in use

Use the SIRIS™
Boutonierre Splint
on the DIP joint
for mallet finger
deformities

For Reducible Flexion. Use the SIRIS™ Boutonniere Splint to correct a reducible boutonniere or mallet finger deformity. The wearer can adjust this splint to hold the finger in position and provide varying degrees of extension mobilization.

For Mild to Moderate Non-Reducible Flexion
. Use the SIRIS™ Boutonniere Splint to correct a mild to moderate non-reducible boutonniere or mallet finger contracture (less than 25 degrees). When using the SIRIS™ Boutonniere Splint for a non-reducible deformity, the individual ring sizes must be larger than normal since the splint must accommodate the contracture.

On Large Finger Joints. Use the SIRIS™ Realignment Splint for enlarged or fusiform-shaped PIP joints. The orientation of the spacer between the two rings holds them farther apart for better leverage at a more comfortable angle.

For Severe Flexion. We do not recommend SIRIS™ Splints for severe flexion contractures (greater than 25 degrees). Use serial casting, dynamic splints, or gutter splints to reduce the contracture prior to ordering SIRIS™ Splints.

Adjust For Leverage and Fit. During use, the wearer can adjust these splints for comfort by squeezing the rings together to allow for more flexion or spreading them apart for more extension. To put the splint on over a flexion deformity, squeeze the rings together, put the splint on sideways and rotate it up over the joint.
